Alistair Fuad Luke, Scott Burnham and Andy Altman

During the festival DE07 invited high profile designers and practitioners to talk about their work and issues which are pertinent in design today.

These events offered people the chance to get up close and personal with established and emerging talent working in design today. If you missed the talks, you're in luck, you can listen again by clicking the links below.

Due to the success of these talks Design Event will be running an annual series of similar events. So watch the DE07 website for more details.

SLOW, LOCAL, BEAUTIFUL: EMERGING WAYS OF DESIGNING
How can we move away from our current throw away culture to create greater value? And with greater awareness of ‘food miles’ how can we look at more ‘local’ production? What does sustainable design really mean? Alistair Fuad Luke, author of the ‘eco Design Handbook’ and Vice president of SlowLab explored some of the answers to these questions in his presentation followed by some lively discussion.
